in Caring for
LGBTIQQ Patients

This course empowers healthcare providers to build better rapport with LGBT clients leading them to increased understanding, personal confidence and comfort in those relationships plus greater success in delivering care.

Cultural Competency Training teaches providers how to establish trust and encourage disclosure by diverse patients. Many sexual minorities lack adequate healthcare due to past experiences of cultural incompetence from even well-meaning providers. Because of this, they may avoid care altogether or not reveal factors in their health they do not trust will be respected.

Through a variety of presentations, interactive experiences, film clips and evaluative processes, participants gain familiarity with LGBT populations and best practices in caring for them.
